Because of expected ice storm on Sunday January 9, only 8:30 worship will take place onsite.

Raising Emotionally and Socially Healthy Teens, part 2

Summertime Greetings from our Office to Your Home:
Even though it is summer, we still wanted to share some parent encouragement
and helps with you! The first way is through our on-going series of short video
Online Parenting Classes.
The Online Parent Class for this month is “Raising Emotionally and Socially
Healthy Teens.”
It is not easy to raise teens that are emotionally and socially healthy in our
changing world. We hope as you watch and listen to the 5 hints, it gives you
some things to ponder as you head into the summer months.
A great book that you might consider reading as a parent over the summer
months, if you have a chance, is “Are My Kids on Track?: The 12 Emotional, Social,
and Spiritual Milestones Your Child Needs to Reach”
This great read offers up some outstanding insights on the topics that were just discussed in the Online Parent Class. We even have a quick 3 page “snapshot” review of this book, as a special bonus resource for this month.
As you think over this month’s Online Parent Class and consider pick up the
suggested book, here are just a couple questions to reflect on:
  1. Who are the trusted adult influences in the life of my tween/teen?
  2. How can we better leverage our mealtimes and make sure they are media free times?
  3. Where would a great place be for my tween/teen to work or volunteer this summer?
  4. What is one simple fun thing we could do in the next month as a family?
  5. Is it time to look back over our rules and boundaries as my tween/teen gets older?
We hope your summer months are blessed! Even though it is summer, we still
want to be available for you and your students, so let us know how we can serve
your family!
Your partner in ministry,
Kevin
