A 5-Alive Testimony. . .

Having appetizers at the bar in Firestones with my 34 yr old son I asked him if he knew John 3:16. He did not know the verse so I told him the verse and told him I would give him 5 dollars if he could answer 5 questions about the verse.
Unfortunately I did not have $5 so I had to give him $10. I took my 5 Alive card and laid it down on the bar and covered the answers with the bill. I proceeded to say the verse to him over and over as I asked him to answer the 5 questions and I uncovered the answers as we figured them out and I explained each answer.

At Charley’s Prime for dinner this evening I noticed my waiter Alex had a cross tattooed on his arm. When he brought our bill I asked him the significance of it and if he knew the significance of the cross to the world. He told me it was a reminder of his Grandfather and to fear God not man. When he came back with my change I asked if he had 3 minutes and I could tell him the real significance of the cross.
As I explained the 5 questions of John 3:16 Alex stared intently at me without ever breaking eye contact. He thanked me for sharing and said he looks forward to seeing us again.

We went back to Charley’s Prime for dinner and Alex was our waiter again. He was so glad to see us sitting in his section again. Referring to our significant conversation a month earlier I asked him what he was doing to feed his soul?
He asked how to do that after admitting he didn’t know how to do that. I invited him to 2 different Uncage the Lion studies and Sunday grace group. He knew right where Redland was from watching his nephew play in Upward.
