Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14
Lent is a season of the Christian year, forty days before Easter, where Christians focus on simple living, prayer, and fasting in order to grow closer to God.
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14 and goes to Easter Sunday, March 31. It's about one-tenth of a year, likened to a tithe of time.
Lent is a time to give of yourself in a special way that enables you to grow closer to God and to experience God's grace.

This Lent season at Redland, we have prepared an outreach postcard inviting friends and neighbors to our Easter Egg Hunt on March 23 and Holy Week Worship Services. There will be two opportunities to gather in groups to canvass the surrounding RBC neighborhood with these invite postcards and little bags of jelly beans. The first opportunity is Saturday, March 16 from 10am-12pm, come meet in the Foyer to gather into groups before heading out. The second is Sunday, March 17 following the 11am worship service, meet in the ROC Foyer for pizza lunch before heading out in groups. We have mapped out 7 neighborhood sections that would need at least 4 volunteers for each section - or more! Come on out and join us!

The Lenten Calendar is a valuable tool to help us observe the season of Lent. Download the Lent Calendar to help guide your focus to dwell on God’s grace during this Lent season, and to make new traditions that focus on self-sacrifice not in “giving up” but in “doing for” others in a sacrificial way. What sacrifices could you make during these forty days that would benefit others? The activities listed each day on the Lenten Calendar are great for meal time discussion and can be done as a family or individually.
