Lent
Begins on Wednesday, February 26

Lent is the forty day season when Christians across the world prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, and prayer. Many traditions use Lent to focus on self-sacrifice by the giving up something during these forty days (certain food, activities, etc.). Newer traditions have focused on self-sacrifice not in “giving up” but in “doing for” others in a sacrificial way.

What sacrifices could you make during these forty days that would benefit others? The activities listed each day on the Lenten Calendar are great for meal time discussion and can be done as a family or individually.
