Kevin Freeman
Acting Pastor, Associate Pastor for Discipleship, Youth, and Families
Kevin is a Maryland native who grew up near Baltimore before coming to Redland with his wife, Karen. They have a bustling family of ten that has grown over the years through foster care, adoption, and good old-fashioned childbirth. Kevin is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has served at Redland since 2009. He oversees the youth ministry, family ministry, and adult discipleship. He loves seeing people become excited about pursuing their relationship with Christ. When he's not wrestling through the Bible or wrangling children, Kevin has been known to make barbecue sauce; he even bottled his own line of sauces!
Bill Archer
Minister of Worship and Administration
Originally from Richmond Virginia, Bill has served on staff at Redland since 2009. Bill met his wife Ava while the were both music students at the University of Maryland, College Park. Married 42 years, they have three grown children and two precious granddaughters. Bill and Ava are both graduates of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ava is an elementary school music teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools. With a passion for helping people in their walk with and worship of the Lord, Bill gives leadership to the very wide-ranging worship ministry and administration needs of the congregation. Bill is a trombone player, dog lover, a fairly decent cook, and enjoys sports.
Christy Horton
Administrative Assistant
Christy was born and raised in Rockville, Maryland. She has been a member of Redland since her family joined in 1994 and has served at Redland in various positions during her membership with Music, Youth, Children’s, and Marriage Ministry. Christy has a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park and joined the Redland staff in 2011 as the Administrative Assistant in the Church Office. She sees her position as more than a job, but as ministry, serving and supporting this local body of believers. Christy married her high school sweetheart, Matt, in 2001. They have two wonderful boys, Wesley and Daniel, and added their niece Alexis to the family in 2021, all of whom make life interesting and fun. She enjoys reading, hiking, and spending quality time with those she loves.
Mark Adams
Pastor Emeritus
Mark has enjoyed the blessing of being married to his wife Sue since 1979. They have three grown up children and seven amazing grandchildren. Mark came to Redland in 1990 as Minister of Youth. In 1997 he became Senior Pastor. His desire is "to equip God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:16-18). Pastor Mark retired on April 16, 2023 and now holds the honorary title of Pastor Emeritus. Mark loves to thrift shop with Sue, run and read---and to play with his grandkids.
