What is Tang Soo Do?
Tang Soo Do is a Korean Martial Art that focuses on the betterment of mind and body, helping to develop a person mentally and physically.
What sets Tang Soo Do apart is its principles: it is a way of life that fosters discipline, respect, and trust. At Redland, these principles are taught using Biblical examples, emphasizing God's love, and His purpose for our lives.
A typical class consists of a 20 minute warm-up that includes stretching, followed by a review of basic techniques. Each class there is a devotional, and following are specialized breakout sessions for individualized teaching. We conclude the class by coming together to practice forms.
Promotion tests for higher ranks are held every three to six months, depending on attendance and readiness. Preparation clinics for promotion tests are also held every three to six months. Field trips to other studios occur on a regular basis.
