Volunteer with Upward Sports!
Have you ever wanted to do more for local missions but weren’t sure where or how to serve Upward needs you! Will you join RBC’s local mission field at the ROC? Beyond being a great program for students, there are plenty of opportunities for adults and youth to serve.
Upward depends on volunteers for a successful season. All of our volunteers are background checked and complete the requirements of Redland Baptist Church's Child Protection Policy.

Upward Team Ambassador
Redlanders, Be an Upward Team Ambassador! We want to intentionally build relationships and connections with those who God is sending into our sphere of influence by recruiting Redland ambassadors for each team. Most teams have few Redland players on them and we want to reach all of the teams with direct Redland involvement.

Coach or Assistant Coach a Team
Upward needs you, and we will teach you ALL you need to know about being a coach in the Upward League! Come check us out and join a great team! Coaches plan and run practices as well as run the team on game days. They are in charge of communication with parents and present the devotions (unless they have a Team Assistant to take over devotions). Mandatory Coaches Meetings will be held in the ROC. Everyone who has volunteered to be a coach or assistant coach with Upward is required to attend one of these meetings. Please RSVP to [email protected] with which meeting you will attend:
- Saturday, October 19 at 9:00am
- Sunday, October 27 at 1:00pm
Team Assistant
The Team Assistant does not need to know anything about basketball. Their role is to go to practices and help give the devotions and attend games as a helper for the coaching staff. A Team Assistant could also help hand out the stars at the end of the games.
Referee
Upward needs referees - and we will teach you ALL you need to know! A Referee Training and Meeting will be held on Saturday, January 6 at 9am-12pm in the ROC. Everyone who has volunteered to be a referee with Upward is required to attend this meeting.
