What is Upward Sports?
Upward Sports, the world’s largest Christian sports program for children, was created with a vision to provide the best sports experience possible for every child. Anyone – children and volunteers of any faith or no faith – can participate in Upward Sports. Specifically designed for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8, Upward Sports aim to bring out “the winner” in every child – regardless of the game’s score.
Redland Baptist Church offers developmental and instructional team sports for kids in Grades K-8 seasonally with basketball and cheerleading. The Upward Sports Staff at RBC desire to change this generation as we help grow athletes:

Registration for Upward Sports Opens August 30
Evaluations
Every child participating in the Upward program must attend one evaluation. Players skills are evaluated and scored. These scores are used to assign players to a division/team. Evaluations for players will take place at the Recreation and Outreach Center, the "ROC.” There is a SignUp Genius link in the registration confirmation e-mail.
Upward Parent Meetings - MANDATORY
All parents of Upward basketball and cheer participants should attend one of the two scheduled parent meetings. Discussion will be about the format of the league’s activities, calendar, expectations of participants, parents, and staffers, and other pertinent information. Please attend one of these meetings to learn all you need to make being a part of the league this season a fun, wonderful time for all.
Practices and Games
Practices begin the last week of November/first week of December. Practice nights are Monday, Tuesday or Thursday Nights in the ROC or at a local Elementary School.
The first games will be the first weekend of January. Game Days take place in the ROC.
The closing of the season will end with a Celebration on the last Saturday Game Day. (The last Game Day depends on if there are inclement weather cancellations.)
Fees and Registration
Basketball for Grades K - 5: $95
Basketball for Grades 6 - 8: $115
Cheerleading for Grades K - 8: $105
Registration Deadline: November 2, 2023
*Payment is online by credit card only.
Please note, we are unable to refund fees and registration costs, as they are already committed to the purchase of equipment and programs costs.

Upward Basketball evaluations AND Upward Cheerleading evaluations will take place at the Redland Baptist Church Recreation and Outreach Center, the "ROC" as follows:
- Monday, October 23, between 5:00-9:00pm
- Tuesday, October 24, between 5:00-9:00pm
- Thursday, October 26, between 5:00-9:00pm
- Monday, October 30, between 5:00-9:00pm
- Tuesday, October 31, between 5:00-9:00pm
- Thursday, November 2, between 5:00-9:00pm

Potential Coach Information
All of our volunteers are background checked and complete the requirements of Redland Baptist Church's Child Protection Policy and Procedures. All coaches should attend and RSVP (upward at redlandbaptist dot org) for one of the two scheduled training meetings:
