with Pastor Mark Adams and CC Day
June 7, 2020
Church Family,
CC and I have been friends for a long, long time. We have been on countless mission trips together over the last few years, and during his recent tenure as deacon chair we have met for breakfast every Wednesday morning to talk and pray for our church and it's many ministries. CC is a great example of a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
God has used our friendship to help me to learn a great deal. CC is the iron that sharpens my iron (Proverbs 27:17). I have asked him to share his wisdom once again by helping myself and our church family to better understand how we can mature as Christ followers when it comes to race relations. God's Word says that when one part of the body suffers, all parts suffer with it. My hope is that by sharing this conversation allows that to happen to a greater extent at Redland. I want us to suffer with those that are suffering in all of that has happened in the past few weeks. My prayer is that we can learn how to better empathize with, and more deeply suffer with the members of our body who have endured the pain of racial injustice.
