PSC Update - July 2024

Here is a written update of the activities of the Pastor Search Committee that was presented to the church during the first Sunday in July. We would like all members to be informed, so this is for the benefit of those who were not present in the congregation when it was delivered.

The Pastor Search Committee continues to work daily and meet regularly to find the next pastor for Redland Baptist Church.

June was a very busy month for the committee and the church.  As most of you know, the PSC nominated Rev. Mark Edwards to serve as our Interim Pastor.  Following our Specially Called Business Meeting, Rev. Edwards withdrew his name as a candidate.  Since that time, the PSC has resumed its efforts to identify God’s selections to fill Redland’s Interim and Pastor positions.  In fact, during the entire season of transition, the PSC has never slowed its search for God’s man to serve as Redland’s next Pastor.
 
The application deadline for those seeking to fill the Pastor position closed on May 14, 2024.  The PSC has spent considerable time reviewing the materials submitted and other resources available to us regarding all candidates.  The PSC is holding initial discussions with the top candidates this month.  Please pray for God’s leading of each candidate and the committee.  Please pray for God’s direction as the church we serve moves forward in unity to find God’s will for the future leader of Redland.
